“SAC’s Aerial Bombardment on Kin Chaung Village, Maungdaw, Claims Three Lives and Leaves Five Gravely Injured”

Today, May 14, Maungdaw residents confirmed that three villagers were killed and at least five others were gravely injured in an aerial bombardment carried out by the Air Force of the Military Council on Kin Chaung village.


Bo Kyaw, 34, and two other women, yet to be identified, tragically lost their lives. Additionally, Daw Aye Nu Myaing, 50, Ma Cho Cho Win, 28, Ma Nwe Nwe, 20, and two other unidentified villagers from Kin Chaung village sustained heavy injuries, subsequent investigation revealed.


At around 4 a.m. today, the Air Force of the Military Council bombed the village of Kin Chaung, Maungdaw, as reported by a villager from Kayay Myaing village to AB News.

“This morning, the Military Council Air Force dropped three bombs on the village of Kin Chaung. They exploded inside the village, killing three villagers and injuring five,” he said. “The bombardment caused destruction of houses,” he added.

The unfortunate village of Kin Chaung is located on Maungdaw-Angu Maw Road.


AB News continues to investigate the details of the damage caused by the military council’s airstrike on the village.
Residents reported that this morning, the SAC’s military outposts based at Nakhakha (5), Myo Thu Gyi, and the 4-mile camp were continuously firing heavy weapons at civilian villages.


Two days ago, on May 12, at around 4 p.m., artillery shells fired from Nakhakha (5), Myo Thu Gyi exploded in the villages of Thar Yar Gone and Ngwe Taung, Maungdaw township, resulting in heavy injuries to two villagers.
