Myanmar military council AirStrike killed a child and a woman, and 11 others were wounded at Ponnagyan township in Arakan.

A 10-year-old child and a displaced woman from Sittwe township were killed at Yotarouk village in Punnagyun township and 11 were left wounded among them 5 were seriously injured by the air strike carried by the Military Council. 

At 10:20 am today as of 2/6/2024, a jet fighter of the Military council carried out an air strike by dropping four bombs over Yotrouk village in Ponnagyun township by flying two times over the township. 

“A 10-year-old child, and a woman from Sittwe who was taking shelter in the village were killed and Two houses were destroyed,” a villager said to the AB News.

The victims were Maung Kyaw Lwan alias Daun Daun (10yrs), and Ma Khaing Moe Aye (26yrs) from Pra Lay Chaung village, Sittwe who was taking refuge in the township. Other seriously injured individuals were Kong San (52), his wife  Thandar Khaing (48), Ma Aye Aye Phru (21) Maung Kyaw Myin, Maung Hin Win (8yrs), Maung Myo San Aung (18 yrs) respectively. 

Among other minor injured individuals were (1) May Ma (43), mother of Maung Kyaw Lwan who was killed in the air strike, (2) Su Mya Oo (14), (3) Ma Su Chey, daughter of Kong San and Daw Thandar Khaing,  (4) Ma Hnin Wa Di (5), Ma Khaing Moe Aye who was also killed in the incident, (5) Daw Aye Khaing (54) (6) Daw Hla Than May (54). 

“One among the wounded individuals was in a serious condition and is at life risk,” a local of Yotarouk said to the AB News. 

“On June 1, in the morning at 9 O’clock,  The Y 12 Bombardment aircraft of the military council struck the Thay Khun village with 4 bombs, and following at 9:45 am bombarded with 7 bombs at Kyin Khwe Mow village in Pauktaw township and around 10:20 am dropped 4 bombs at Yotarouk village in Punagyun township.” A local said.

In addition, a local of Kyin Khwe Mow village under Pauktaw  township named Maung Tun Win Chey(20) received serious bomb splinters on his left arm and chin of his face.

U Kyaw Than Thar (59) was wounded with splinters on the angle of his right hand. The local confirmed to the AB News. 

The terrorist military council continued committing crimes against humanity by air strikes targeting civilian areas, schools, hospitals, and other populated areas.

On May 31, at night more than 40 innocent people were killed at Byain Phyu village in Sittwe, and the dead bodies were burned to ashes aimed to disappear evidence by the military. Three women were raped of them 2 women were killed after committing rape.   

According to the statement issued by HDCO, due to the targeting of civilians by the Military Council in Rakhine from 31 November 2023 to until 13 May 2024, a total of 268 civilians were killed while the total number of injured individuals was 640. Some 425 innocent general civilians were arrested and put in jail confinement.
