It has been reported that the Arakan Army ( AA) rescued more than 4,000 Muslim people who were locked up as human shields in Maungdaw town yesterday August 7th.

In Maungdaw City, the residents, Rakhine, Muslims, and other ethnic minorities were locked up as human shields by the military council’s army and its fellow Muslim armed organizations.

According to reliable sources, the terrorist military council and Muslim militant groups had blocked all the entry/exit gates in Maungdaw City with a large force. Yesterday, August 7, the Arakan Army entered the city and evacuated some of the stranded people safely.

It is also reported that the people who were able to be evacuated by the AA have been placed in a safer place under its control and are being assisted with the necessary food, water, and medical care.
