The terrorist Myanmar military council killed civilians by air strike over Yotayoke village under Ponnagyun Township recently. In the notorious and cowardly attack, a 10-year-old child was killed and a woman was left seriously wounded and later succumbed to her injury at the hospital on June 2.
The woman who died while receiving medical treatment was Daw Aye Nu, 43 years old, from Chaung Su Ward, Yotayoke Village. She died on June 2.
At about 10:20 a.m. on June 1, the terrorist military council dropped 8 bombs at 8 different locations in the village with a Y12 aircraft. Maung Kyaw Lwin, a 10-year-old boy, and Ma Khaing Moe Aye (26) who was fleeing the war from Pya Lay Chaung Village in Sittwe Township, were hit by the bombs and died on the spot.
In addition, 10 people including IDPs in the village were injured and 7 houses were destroyed.
The injured were:
(1) U Kong San, 52 years old; (2) Daw Than Than Khaing, 48 years old; (3) Daw Aye Khaing, 54 years old; (4) U Myat Thu Aung, 25 years old; (5) U Maung Thein Tin, 53 years old; (6) Maung Myo San Aung, 18 years old; (7) Daw Hla Than Yee, 56 years old; (8) Ma Su Myat Oo, 14 years old; (9) Daw Aye Nu, 43 years old, and (10) Ma Aye Phyu, 22 years old. Among them, Daw Aye Nu, 43 years old, who was seriously wounded in the arm by a bomb splinter, died while was undergoing medical treatment at the hospital, one villager said.
“Among the injured, a woman named Daw Aye Nu died while receiving medical treatment. Her injury was very serious. Among those who were injured, some of them were seriously injured,” he said.
A villager said that most of the villagers were afraid to stay in the village because of the deliberate bombing by the terrorist military council and the people were fleeing to places that they considered to be safe.
At the same time, Y12 bombers jet targeted 3 villages in Pauk taw Township, dropping 4 bombs in the They Chaung village. 6 bombs were at the Taung U Maw Taung Som village, and 7 bombs were continuously attacked in the village of Kria Khwe Maw.
As a result, 29-year-old Maung Tun Win Chey from Kria Khwe Maw village was hit by a bomb in the left arm angle and the chin of his face, and U Kyaw Than Thar, 59, was also seriously injured.
The terrorist military council is targeting civilian residential villages such as; wards, hospitals, religious infrastructures, and the places where the internally displaced people were gathered due to war.
The rules of war and international humanitarian law are being violated and war crimes are being openly committed by the military council through mass killing.
