On 11 June, 11 civilians from Partalait, Aung Daing, and Ah Myint Kyun villages of Sittwe township were sneakily fleeing the probable upcoming war by boat. No sooner had they were about to reach the bank of Kun Ten Kin River of Ponnagyun township, the terrorist military council chased the boat by a speed boat of a naval force of the military council stationed on the feet of Kun Den Krin Chaung River in Ponnagyun township arrested them.
Among the arrested people, 6 men were ordered to jump into the river to swim to avoid harm, and when they acted accordingly the navy’s soldiers opened fire on them from the back with the gun. 2 were killed by receiving bullets and 4 were managed to save their lives.
In addition, 4 women including a 3-year-old female child who were held on the ship were bold-headed and released, but the condition of the 2 women who remained on the naval ship was not immediately known what happened to them.
Those who were killed are identified as U Aung Thein Tun 39 years old, and U Than Tun Maung, 53 years old, who were forced to swim and were brutally shot to death. The 2 women who remained on the ship of the Military Council were Ma Moe Thuza, 24 years old, and Daw Saw Saw Aye, 49 years old, from the village of Ah Myint Kyun.
The names related to the current state of 2 women who are still in captivity by the military under investigation are to be confirmed and the names who have been released are disclosed by the AB News for the reason of their safety and security.
No sooner than the military council ordered the people of villages under Sittwe Township to move between June 10th and 14th to be used as human shields during the war, most of them moved for somewhere else for their safety and security, but 11 of those were arrested fleeing to the AA control liberated area and were brutally shot to death by the military council.
The military council in Sittwe City was reinforcing its outposts all over the city; It was found that the military council had prepared the city as the last fortress by deploying artillery, planting landmine traps, building concrete bunkers, and various types of traps so that the civilians cannot move from the city areas.
